Airbus A-380

The A380 has been winning over business and leisure passengers alike since its service introduction in 2007, providing levels of comfort and reliability that have led travelers to specifically request flights on Airbus’ 21st century flagship – which is in operation with carriers around the globe.

The double-deck A380 is the world’s largest commercial aircraft flying today, with capacity to carry 525 passengers in a comfortable three-class configuration, and up to  853 in a single-class configuration that provides wider seats than its competitor. Overall, the A380’s two decks offer 50 per cent more floor surface than any other high-capacity aircraft.

With its range of 8,300 nautical miles, the A380 is the ideal solution to alleviate traffic congestion at busy airports. It has two full-length passenger levels with true widebody dimensions: a main deck and an upper deck, which are conveniently linked by fixed stairs forward and aft.

Last year, these two travel markets illustrated a significant increase over 2009. In 2010, 210,000 Koreans visited Taiwan, growing this market by 29.38. Similarly, the number of Taiwanese travelers visiting Korea grew to 400,000, a 4.5 percent increase over 2009. EVA Air carried more than 160,000 of these travelers between Taipei and Seoul, achieving an average load factor of approximately 85 percent.
Additionally, just in the first quarter of this year, approximately 70,000 travelers came from Korea to Taiwan. As it is evident that the demand for travel in both markets is strong and continuously growing, this collaboration is extremely beneficial for both EVA and Asiana airlines.

The distinction stems from the latest survey of millions of air travellers conducted by Skytrax, the reputed UK-based consultants. The award was presented to Swiss in Hamburg.

More than 15.4 million air travellers from 95 countries took part in the latest survey by UK consultants Skytrax. The poll extended to over 160 airlines all over the world, and named Swiss as 'Best Airline: Europe'.

Swiss carried a record 13.5 million passengers in 2008, compared to 12.2 million the previous year. Seatkilometre capacity was increased by 12.0%. For the year as a whole, all the extra production was absorbed by market demand: systemwide seat load factor stood at 80.3%, virtually unchanged from the 80.2% of 2007 and well above the industry average.

Swiss operates non-stop daily flights from Dubai to Zurich, daily flights from Muscat, Oman, five weekly flights from Cairo and four weekly flights from Riyadh and Jeddah. Overall, Swiss offers a comprehensive network of 90 destinations in 42 countries.
